Plant-based nutrition for athletes

Plant foods have the most nutrients and the fewest calories. It is rich in vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals and antioxidants that are necessary for optimal performance. It is also alkaline which helps reduce inflammation, and promotes bone and immune health.


An unprocessed plant-based diet is essential for cell renewal, and is also beneficial for the environment and the planet. Eating healthy, "clean food" means consuming food that can be bought from farmers.

Food that is genetically modified, which is also called artificial food, is full of pesticides and herbicides, which have the opposite effect than desired on our body.


Myths about plant-based nutrition for athletes:

  1. Not getting enough protein

  2. It is not possible to ingest complete protein

Some of the positive effects of a plant-based diet:

  • eliminating the desire for artificial food

  • reduction of body fat

  • less joint inflammation

With a plant-based diet, it is preferable to eat foods that are raw or cooked at lower temperatures to retain more nutrients.
